Blogging more has really helped me think more about the pictures that I want to make while on assignment. Over the past couple of months, I've really been focusing on taking boring photos for some reason. I've been reluctant to experiment too much or take too much time at an assignment. I'm not sure why I started doing that, it's a mystery. But hey, it's over now.
Anyways, I shot a ordination ceremony for three new priests to the Diocese of Orange. Access was limited because I was restricted to one area. I remember a professor saying, always bring your 300mm lens if you shoot in a church. Too bad I remembered that bit of wisdom once I was already inside, without my 300mm.
As for the photos, I wanted them to be black and white just because. I haven't processed any photos as black and white in over a year, so here you go.
Nice light can really change an assignment, especially a boring one.
